Rogelio Quintanar, Quintanar Running Co.
Rogelio Quintanar began his torrid love affair with running after he signed up for the high school cross country team. His modest success in high school caught the eye of various colleges and he was fortunate to compete at the collegiate level. Over the course of 30 plus years he has run in over 40 states and a handful of foreign countries. He has run races ranging in a variety of distances from one kilometer fun runs up to ultramarathons. Rogelio also finished a handful of off-road triathlons but soon realized that he couldn’t run during the swim portion of the event and decided to stick to running. Rogelio worked for over 25 years in the nonprofit sector. In that time, he worked with organizations to help them increase capacity, seek funding, and improve their service delivery. Rogelio worked with organizations at the local, state, and national level. For close to ten years, he has been involved in promoting running in the Golden Isles of Georgia. He has been the race (and co-director) director for local races, provided consultation to local organizations interested in creating their own running events, sat on the organizing committees, and volunteered many hours on the race course. Rogelio also measures courses for USATF certification and coaches’ young runners at one of the local high schools. In 2016 he created the Quintanar Running Co. with the goal of empowering individuals and communities through running.
