Worth the Wait ~ Yellowstone NP

Some images can take a long time for the right set of circumstances to occur in order to create. This image is one of those. Great fountain is by far my favorite in Yellowstone. Both because of its picturesque setting and the large pool that surrounds it. One of my first stops when arriving in the park was to check the prediction for the next eruption of great fountain hoping to capture it close to sunrise or set. Unfortunately, the eruption window is +/- two hours. When the rare opportunity had presented itself, I spent numerous unsuccessful hours waiting. After numerous visits over two decades I created this image on my first morning in my most recent visit.
