The world tree, or tree of Life, is a motif we revisit again and again... To me, there is no symbol more sacred or sublimely beautiful.
This tiny World Tree pendant is roughly an inch in height, grasping a raw magnetite crystal in its roots, representing the iron core of the earth. Magnetite, which the ancients knew as lodestone, is an iron oxide like hematite and goethite. This dark little crystal has the unique property of ferrimagnetism, which means it is naturally sensitive to the magnetic field which resonates from the Earth's very heart.
It is one of the world's most universal symbols. It is the treasury of souls, the bridge that connects all worlds, and it's imagery permeates both science and myth. It is a symbol perhaps as old as the imagination itself. It is known by many names, and countless depictions, from the dreams of the Shaman, to the Norse myths of Yggdrasil, to the Sephiroth of the Kabbalah, and the Christian Cross. Even science has its Evolutionary tree, connecting all life as one family. The Tree of Life represents the anatomy of our existence, the complex-yet-elegant system that connects the divine world to the material world, the gravity which anchors us, and the spirit which guides us towards bright new frontiers.
