Waterview Drive

Waterview Drive is part of a series celebrating the idea of home and neighborhood. It’s an abstract composition of blues and purples with just a hint of green. The horizontal band of improv blocks includes triangle shapes that remind me of a child’s drawing of houses. Each one of the pieces in the series is named for a fictional street. Stitching lines add texture and continue the theme–square spirals in the horizontal band, fans suggesting pavement or water in the lower dark blue section, and spirals suggesting clouds or wind in the lighter blue section at the top. Mounted on painted black canvas with a wire on the back for easy hanging.
