This piece of art is made from a small wood drawer and is perfect to either HANG on the wall, or, sit on a shelf. I found this composition Baby Jesus in a manger at a thrift store! The gold star is mercury glass and the tail is spun glass, also called angel hair. The post card is a scan from an antique Christmas card. A heap of vintage mercury glass beads, tinsel and a snowflake of German embossed metallic paper completes the diorama. There is vintage trim glued to the edges of the re-purposed drawer.
Artist JoAnne Hunot has been designing and selling assemblage boxes created from vintage items for over 20 years at art shows in California. The last photo above shows her studio full of "stuff" to be made into art. This is up-cycling at its best! Since all frames and boxes are re-purposed from thrift stores, there might be small blemishes.
I also have an etsy store.

I have been collecting interesting artifacts since childhood. I LOVE old stuff! I visit flea markets and thrift stores looking for vintage items for my up-cycled art work. All of the frames, boxes, and drawers I use are re-purposed. I have been selling my work at California art shows for over 20 years.
