Axes were widely used by Vikings in open combat. One popular defense was to stay hidden behind the shield wall, and then spring forth in deadly attack. The hook of the blade is perfect for grappling on the battlefield. This axe has been designed by one of our master craftsman, and spent countless hours being shaped into its its beautiful but powerful form. This devotion to detail results in a superior grip, heft, and balance. The body of this axe is faced with Cherry. As cherry ages, it darkens and ages beautifully. This protects it from weather and prolongs the life of your axe. Upon receiving your axe, it is a good idea to use a soft cloth to buff the wax into the wood.
