Inspired by my love of muted ocean colours, this piece was painted with a sunny coastal town in mind. This is a highly textured acrylic painting on gallery stretched canvas. This piece was painted using a palette knife and a credit card to achieve it's unique texture. It has many expressive marks incorporated into it and has been sealed with several coats of satin varnish to enhance and protect its beauty. The sides are painted black, making framing optional. Measures 24" x 36" x 1.5" deep and can be hung vertically or horizontally.
This is a perfect piece to hang behind a couch or a bed, in a modern, minimalist or beach inspired home. The colours are very soothing, yet the black adds some drama and depth to the piece. Signed on the back so you can choose the hanging orientation. This piece is wired to hang vertically, but can be wired horizontally on request. If you would also like the piece signed on the front, please request before shipping.

I'm a self-taught artist working in acrylic and ink. For me, painting is a necessity -just like breathing . It calms my mind and allows me to express my emotions in a non-verbal way.
My pieces are mainly abstract and I love to work with texture and layers. My paintings often begin with a layer of texture, and then I build more layers with colour and expressive mark making. I want there to be an interplay between what is visible on the surface of my paintings and the layers underneath.
I have a deep connection to water and the beach - perhaps because I'm an Aquarius. I also have many fond memories of visiting my brother in San Diego, where beach visits are a must. I am drawn to blues, teals , turquoise and neutrals - the colors of the ocean, sand and weathered wood, which is evident in my work.
I want to catch the viewers eye with these beautiful oceany colors, and then as they move closer, they will see all the textures and layers.
