For this particular card, I drew inspiration from Cassandra, a Trojan priestess of Apollo in Greek mythology cursed to utter true prophecies, but never to be believed.The Hanged Man card in Tarot symbolizes trial or meditation, selflessness, and sacrifice. It is a challenge to view things from a different perspective, which was certainly appropriate since I created it as the pandemic ramped up back in April, 2020. Feral Hearts Tarot is a collection of art rooted deeply in Greek mythology. Mythology was once described to me as a method of coping with our own humanity. We needed a bit of "taming" and lessons taught and learned through myths like those the Greeks created provided that, and perhaps unintentionally, epic mysticism and wonder that would stand the test of time. I hope the work I create for this deck embraces the raw, unfiltered nature of our hearts as I seek to celebrate the stories I've loved since I was a little girl.
