Description
In my trips to Elephant Rocks I came across this magnificent tree located near the quarry. It's possibly one of the oldest trees in the park. It's experienced a lot including a lightning strike that left a large gapping scar in the heart of its trunk. As you lay down below its sweeping limbs you see many that are either broken or dead. In many ways the tree and are alike. We both are a little used, but not used up. I rarely go to Elephant Rocks that I don't pause and spend a few minutes under this tree.
