The Enkindling Print

To someone who doesn’t understand growth, it would look like complete destruction.” - Cynthia Occelli In 2020, so many things in my life (and the lives of so many others) came completely undone. I now value the most mundane things with more enthusiasm than I could have previously imagined. Doing something as simple as going to the grocery store seems like a big deal. I watch the eyes of those I talk to more closely. While so many say they’re the windows to the soul, it took a lot of mask wearing for me to realize how much eyes actually say. And while I loved nature, especially spring, long before the pandemic hit, I treasure it now on an entirely different level. I create an ode to spring each year as winter wanes, and “The Enkindling” is that piece for 2021. I’m so grateful to be here and witness the flowers I so dearly love.
