MEET THE ARTIST: Larissa McLean
Larissa McLean is a resident of the Comox Valley and a member of ArtWrkx (, located in downtown Courtenay. She has over twenty years of teaching experience in art and gardening education in Grade 1-12. She has a BFA in printmaking, a BED and holds a teaching certificate in Alberta and British Columbia.
Larissa works in mixed-media, integrating felted and hooked tapestries, collage and other materials with her painting. Her influences have been floral, focusing on sustainability, water, salmon-spawning and old growth forest. Larissa continues to work on sustainable practices on her half-acre windmill home, where she offers classes on her patio in a garden setting in the summer.
