I am a native San Diegan, so when it came time to paint a painting of my beautiful city, I just knew I had to paint the bridge over Coronado Bay. I have always been fascinated by bridges…I think it’s the idea of the two land masses being connected by a structure that man has built. To think that someone comes up with an idea in their head, applies it to paper (or now, computer), creates a model, and then actually builds it… to withstand earthquakes, cars, all sorts of pressures. The ingenuity is incredible. Imagine something that you created being used by thousands of people a day.
When I was kid, I called it the “blue bridge and I remember crossing it to play soccer tournaments on Coronado. The water is a beautiful blue with the cerulean colored bridge above cutting through a typical San Diego sunset…warm and golden.
Our Signed and Numbered Canvas Giclees are printed on canvas and are the same size as the original painting. By printing on canvas, the colors achieved are bright and vivid, mirroring the intensity of Grant's originals. Our canvas giclees are stretched on heavy duty stretcher bars and are museum wrapped (the painting continues around the sides), adding a three dimensional studio feel and creating the option to hang them unframed for a more contemporary look. Each one is signed on the front and signed and numbered on the back. Our Signed and Numbered Canvas Giclee are in an edition of 100 (there are only 100 ever made).
