Acrylic on canvas. My life long passion has been music and recent work captures musicians and singers in various poses of joy as they make music to feed the soul! This image reminds me of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra when my choir performs with them throughout the year.

Jennylynd James is a Renaissance woman: a food scientist, soprano, writer and fine artist in one package. With a Ph.D. in Food Science from McGill University, Jennylynd worked for many years in the food industry in the US, Latin America, Europe and Canada. She was introduced to oil painting, portraiture and sketching in 2009 while running a business in Ireland. Jennylynd uses the vivid colours of her Caribbean heritage and global travel to influence her artwork.
From childhood, Jennylynd played the piano and sang in large choirs. She is a soprano in the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir and her recent paintings focus on a passion for stage performance and capturing the joy of making music.
Loose brush strokes in her acrylic paintings to portray the movement and expression of musical characters at live shows.
"I crop the most animated scenes to fill small and large canvases with the illusion of a big, rich sound."
