Survivor

This is an emotionally significant piece for me. I found out that my Lyme is no longer active. This is after 2 years of chronic tiredness, headaches, joint paint, hurting skin, aching feet, foggy brain... You know, Lyme. Instead of feeling elated, I feel calm and thoughtful. I feel like a survivor. So I drew this in honor of recovery, of surviving. I gave the woman bruises and scars, cuts and a bulls eye rash to physically represent all sorts of challenges that people survive. There are Bible verses worked into her hair and clothes. May you too survive the challenges life throws at you. Colored pencil and graphite pencil on thick drawing paper It is framed with mat and glass. It will be shipped in a sturdy cardboard package.
