Handwoven One of a kind Textile Design &
Mixed Media Paintings.
My work as a textile artist and mixed media painter fuses my fascination and love for repeated patterns and natural textures. I have been a textile artist for over 30 years, designing and hand weaving innovative, contemporary textiles on a 10 harness floor loom. With special attention to trending color palettes, blending different fiber combinations and drafting inventive weave structures, these elaborate accessories have a sculptural quality with multiple layers and unique textures.
The surfaces of my mixed media paintings are adorned with multiple layers of acrylic paint, paper collage, lithography marker and some pieces have hand stitched nylon thread detail. I am fond of abstract imagery which is depicted in these visual narratives. There is a reliance on repeated patterns, gestural lines and grids. Patterns that exist in nature intertwine with personal stories to inspire the compositions of my paintings.
