Hummingbirds are one of the tinest birds. They are also one of the most interesting; they fly at an average 25-30 mph, their average life span is 5 years, their hearts beat up to 1,260 times per minute and babies are about the size of a penny! Amazing creatures!
This hummingbird is larger than life and measures 7" tall and 9" wide. It is constructed using the copper foil method (tiffany). Each piece of glass used in the design is cut to size, individually wrapped and soldered to form the final piece.
Most of the glass used in this piece is iridescent - featuring luminous colors that seem to change when seen from different angles that mimics the amazing colors seen in nature.
