So Mote It Be (The Magician)

Oh but my darling, what if you fly?” ― Erin Hanson "So Mote It Be" is the Magician card in my tarot deck, Feral Hearts, which is being published by US Games Systems, Inc. It represents a prayer to Hekate, who, among other things, is the goddess of the crossroads, and is associated with transformation and witchcraft. Feral Hearts Tarot is a collection of art rooted deeply in Greek mythology. Mythology was once described to me as a method of coping with our own humanity. We needed a bit of "taming" and lessons taught and learned through myths like those the Greeks created provided that, and perhaps unintentionally, epic mysticism and wonder that would stand the test of time. I hope the work I create for this deck embraces the raw, unfiltered nature of our hearts as I seek to celebrate the stories I've loved since I was a little girl.
