This sizable fleece weighs 8.5 pounds with a 4 inch staple length. A stunning silvery spinning fleece with medium curly crimp. It has a very good handle. The fleece is from our one breeding Gotland ram, Kendrick. This is simply an amazing fleece allowing the spinner to experience the best of Gotland wool…with all that shimmer! Gotland fleeces produce a lofty yarn with a silky finish. In my experience, best to spin with a woolen method but with a worsted prep. Some have compared this wool to mohair, but it is much softer than that. And a little goes a long way. Our fleeces are never coated because these browsing animals have cleaned our pastures up nicely. But they might have some very light vegetable matter. (Coating sheep often causes felting.)
