Silhouette Reflections

PEN & INK (ORIGINAL14" X 11") PROFESSIONALLY FRAMED & MATTED UNDER GLASS (BLACK WOOD FRAME). I was inspired to do this piece because of the crystal clear reflections cast onto the water by the water plants in the early morning sunshine. The important thing I had to concentrate on was the look of transparency of the leaves as the sun was shining threw them. Pen & Ink contour line work was used to show the folds & movement of the leaves. Lighter contour line work was used to show the look of transparency of the leaves. Parallel line work was used to show the reflections in the water. Small reflective water rings were shown indicating where the plants grow up out of the water & most importantly indicate some form of defined horizon line in this sketch.
