"Bury my heart in Serenity Valley," reads our beautifully rendered enamel pin, featuring the flag of the Independents, tattered but still flying over the valley, with a field of stars behind. A beautiful and meaningful gift for any Firefly fan; for us, it symbolizes the die hard passion and perseverance that makes the Browncoat fandom such a powerful force for good.
This pin features the art from one side of our challenge coin of the same name, which was a limited edition, con exclusive from SDCC in 2018. The artwork was designed in collaboration with Zac Pensol, who has designed all of the California Browncoats challenge coins! Zac is also the Project Director and In-House Artist for Toy Vault.
All profits from this enamel pin benefit charity. California Browncoats is a registered 501(c)3 non profit. All profits from sales from our etsy shop benefit charity - check our blog at to see which charity we are supporting at the moment!

Who We Are
California Browncoats is a 501(c)3 non profit dedicated to promoting the fandom of Firefly & Serenity and other projects of their cast & crew through charitable works. We can be found at conventions, screenings, shindigs, and other events throughout California. Since 2007, California Browncoats has donated over $240,000 to various charities.
What We Do
A major part of the California Browncoat's mission is to raise funds for other non-profit charities. We try to enlist the help of a celebrity spokesperson/sponsor from the cast or crew of Firefly or Serenity. The spokesperson/sponsor will choose the charity that receives the funds we raise at that event. For the last year we have been raising funds for Alzheimer's Association with the help of Sean Maher (Dr. Simon Tam.)
