Sempervivum atlanticum is a low-growing succulent that produces small rosettes of pale green, red-flushed leaves, especially when exposed to intense sunlight. These rosettes typically reach a diameter of 3.2 inches (8 cm) and form a compact mound, with short stolons that freely produce offsets. The leaves are fleshy and finely hairy, measuring up to 2 inches (5 cm) in length and 0.5 inches (1.2 cm) in width. In the summer, the plant produces 12-merous flowers with white to pale pink petals and broad red-purple median bands, supported by leafy stems up to 10 inches (25 cm) tall. Once the flowers have bloomed, the original rosette will die off, making space for the newly formed offsets.
