Bowl Features
This Hand turned Segmented Wood Bowl is from my Contemporary Collection, which features classical wood bowls with a twist of materials and colors. This graceful bowl is a brick design with the “bricks” made from Storm Damaged North Carolina Magnolia and Maple and the “mortar” from responsibly harvested Purpleheart.
Details of the Bowl
The bowl measures 1-1/4" in diameter at the top, 3-1/4" in diameter at the bottom and is 5-1/4" tall. Made from 12, ¾” thick segments in 7 rings for a total of 168 individual pieces. The bowl is finished in several coats of Hi Gloss Lacquer.
Uses:
With most all Hand Turned Bowls, this is primarily a functional art object. It may be used as a table centerpiece, mantel piece or displayed as a art focal point. It can also be used for Potpourri, Fruit or Nuts, but not exposed to liquid moisture. The finish is very durable, and cleaning may be done with a damp cloth.
All of my work is signed by me, Serial Numbered and the species of wood recorded on the bottom. I hope you enjoy owning this bowl as much as I enjoy turning them.
