I am an artist and evolutionary biologist and have never really given up either of these passions over the years, Both require a slightly altered state of concentration for creativity to manifest.Almost regardless of the weather, I am happiest when outdoors and much of my artwork is inspired by field sketches. Indeed my favorite works are those painted during unsettled weather when the atmosphere accentuates shapes and colors differentially across distances. These are personal works and I'd like to think that some are evocative for the viewer.
Most of my works are original watercolors. Several are quite tiny and suitable for setting on a desk or shelf. I provide tiny easels for these. As well I have a Giclée of the original watercolor Penguins, archival quality Note Cards, one fun multimedia construction and one large oil on canvas. Most refer to Southern Utah and one to Antarctica.
