Description
This is one of my stamp boxes. They are made to store a standard roll of 100 stamps.
The box has a 'composite' lid made from quilted maple and padauk separated by a divider made from thin layers of walnut and maple. The lid is held in place by a 'plug' of closed-cell craft foam for a slight friction fit. The carcass of the box is made from American black cherry.
The box is finished with several coats of hand-rubbed clear lacquer and then the box is waxed to bring out the natural color and figure of the woods.
The box is signed and has a unique serial number.
