This one-of-a-kind journal is upcycled from a discarded copy of the children's book "Rosie and the Rustlers." I embellished the cover with parts of lace doilies and cutouts from a copy of my page of watercolor and marker drawings of flowers. The pages of the journal are made from yellow colored paper hand torn to the size of the cover. The large paper I used did not measure two full widths of the book so every other page is a short one. You might use short pages for notes about what you put on the wider pages. Or you might paste images, quotes, or poems on the out side of the wider pages to inspire what you write on both. I bound the pages into the book cover using a cross variant of long and kettle stitches. These are visible on the spine over ribbons, which serve to anchor the cover to the book block (a term meaning all the pages of a book as a whole). The book block contains two signatures (a term for groups of pages). I include out-of-context quotes from the original book on several of the pages.
These can be used as writing prompts.
