Rhipsalis mesembryanthemoides is an epiphytic cactus that has sturdy stems adorned with small branches. As time passes, the stems will droop downward. The main stems are woody and can reach a length of 20 inches (50 cm) with a diameter of 0.08 inches (2 mm). At the branchlets' areoles, there are white flowers that measure up to 0.3 inches (8 mm) long and 0.6 inches (5 mm) in diameter.
