Kelly Dorton is an East Tennessee native, she graduated with her BFA, with emphasis in ceramics, from ETSU in 2018. Dorton’s work is heavily influenced by living in a world in need of unity and community. She finds inspiration for her work in science fiction, as well as historical and contemporary efforts towards space exploration. Her work has been featured in The Art Of Planetary Science, an annual juried art show, and has received awards for her work and has been featured in various exhibitions nationally. She is a member of both the International Association of Astronomical Artists and Tennessee Craft. Dorton currently works from her home studio in Morristown, Tennessee.
