Description
Taken in the derelict Hearn Generating Plant here in Toronto, the mirrorball was huge, 20 feet in diameter, suspended above the wrecked, dusty floor you can see in the image "Light Beams".
As the ball slowly rotated, the irregular mirrors cast reflections down to ground level, illuminating the dust like ghosts, sliding through the air and then, just as quickly, vanishing.
Magical.

When shooting, I use a combination of modern digital equipment and vintage film cameras from my collection.
Photographs rarely show a scene as you remember it; all of my images are manipulated and enhanced to recapture the image as I recall it. These are photographs of happy moments: a meal with loved ones in a vintage diner; fireworks on a summer’s evening; reflections bouncing from favourite buildings.
