Raven Blues acrylic on canvas MEET THE ARTIST: Christina Nilsson I prefer to draw upon everyday life experiences and nature to inspire my creations. painting with acrylic, oils or watercolors gives me a variety of mediums to best showcase my subject whether they are animals, birds, landscapes or people. Although leaning towards realism in my paintings, I make a point of painting by instinct once the basic forms are captured. This technique, along with careful note-taking, serves as a way to personalize and document my art practice. After graduation from North Island College's fine arts program I was a member of Artsphere Comox Valley Society for many years and am still a member of Pearl Ellis Gallery in Comox and Salish Sea Gifts in Bowser where I continue displaying and selling paintings and cards.
