P2112 Medium Square Plug Box - SQPM

This is one of my medium 'square plug' style boxes. They are perfect for those very small treasures that need a special place. The box has a 'composite' lid made from birdseye maple and walnut burl separated by a divider made from thin layers of macassar ebony and maple. The lid is held in place by a 'plug' of closed-cell craft foam for a slight friction fit. The carcass of the box is made from red oak and is lined with a matching piece of craft foam to protect whatever you choose to keep inside. The box is finished with several coats of hand-rubbed clear lacquer and then the box is waxed to bring out the natural color and figure of the woods. The box is signed and has a unique serial number.
