Description
This gourd vessel was created from a bottle gourd with the top cut off. Utilized are alcohol dyes with overlays of transparent iridescent paint sticks. A pattern of woodburning and carving with silver leafing and beads runs along the rim of the gourd. Filigree has been added underneath the patterning. Large reeds are inserted near the rim with waxed linen thread wrapped around the reeds and gourd. The vessel is then finished with embellishments of beads on the wrapped linen thread ends.
