The reason I keep on painting is not just because I love to create new forms and colors, but, above all, it is because I believe that through my art I have an opportunity to contribute something of value to our modern culture.
Stylistically, my work is eclectic, mixing elements of Classical Art with Pop-art, Surrealism, Photorealism and sometimes bordering on Abstract. I use live, contemporary models, objects and modern photography as a starting point and fit them into traditional vocabulary, with attention to drawing, proportions, balanced composition and color palette.
The old-world patina and faked decay I frequently add as emblematic of the timeless nature of art is to emphasize the ageless significance of my subject matter and transcend its position in any specific time or space. Hence, to some degree, my art is given a quality of an artifact applicable to any old or modern environment.
My medium is primarily oil on canvas, but I also like to draw on paper and do watercolors.
