Nefelibata Print

I created "Nefelibata" at the start of Lucien's wean off of phenobarbital, which is the medication we'd used to control his seizures since he was diagnosed with epilepsy at 2 months. I'm grateful I can say he's still seizure-free even off medication. His language development has exploded and I love watching his sense of humor develop as well. He's such a funny little dude! This painting is about the curiosity and kindness he's always displayed regardless of the limitations and obstacles he's had to overcome. I always told myself if his challenges had any kind of tangible form, he'd undoubtedly try to play with them like he's always done with everything else. Lucien reminds me constantly to look for silver linings, and that's one of the many things I love about him.
