N497. Red & White Fish Lure & Coral Necklace. I made this necklace with a large fish lure I found at a flea market. I used coral gemstone beads to pick up on the red color of the fish lure, as well as the under the sea theme. The chain is silver-tone cable link, with a fish charm at the back. The necklace chain is 25” long, but can be worn shorter. The fish lure pendant measures 4.5” long by 1” wide.

My jewelry reflects my passion for antiquing & recycling. I love working with early plastics (e.g., bakelite), found objects (e.g., vintage pinback buttons, lithograph tin, old bottle tops, transit tokens, electrical resisters, etc.), broken vintage jewelry & charms, metal (especially copper), & gemstone beads to create something fun & interesting to wear. I use a variety of techniques in my work, including cold connections, texturing, soldering, riveting, wire-wrapping, enameling, & forming. I take jewelry classes at the Des Moines Art Center, & enjoy learning & experimenting with new techniques. Each piece of jewelry I design is unique, & comes with a story that describes the history of the materials used &/or the message/meaning of the work.
