"Music Is Life Itself" by Sarah S

Mixed Media 16"x20" I created this piece based on Louis Armstrong’s quote, “Music is life itself.” Louis Armstrong is a famous trumpet player, so I figured I could use his quote on my trumpet-themed piece. My favorite part of the process was cutting out pieces of sheet music to make them into a trumpet. The part I struggled with the most was writing “Louis Armstrong” because I had a hard time writing it straight. The canvas needed more color than just old sheet music and black, so I created five lines (representing the staff on every piece of sheet music) using colors of the rainbow. I believe this helps portray life coming from music. As a trumpet player, this is my favorite piece I’ve created.
