Monarch on Milkweed oil on canvas MEET THE ARTIST: Margaret Switala Winnipeg based artist, Margaret has been an active for over 30 years. She is mainly an oil painter, and occasionally works in pastels and mixed media. Although she is known for her surrealism paintings (thinking outside the box), she also enjoys doing still life studies and prairie scenes. She is inspired by natural beauty and bold colours in around her. In Winnipeg she has exhibited in several galleries and local art shows. She is represented at Kathleen Crosby Gallery and earlier at Grolle Fine Art Gallery. While with the latter gallery, she helped arrange for an international Art Exhibition to Poland with other artists. Margaret has participated in art exhibitions locally and abroad over the years. She has also received grants from the Manitoba Arts Council and Winnipeg Arts Council for further artistic development. Her artwork can be found in private collections across Canada, Europe and USA.
