These olives are hand carved out of salvaged woods from South Florida. They are painted with a mixture of oil base and water base colors. Several coats of clear lacquer were applied. Pewter and wood cocktail sticks available.

LUIS GONZALEZ
Using different types of salvaged hardwoods, I begin with a chainsaw creating a rough shape then proceeding to a lathe, I turn the piece until I achieve a symmetrical shape. Lastly, I hand carve it for the final expressive details. I use a variety of painting techniques and finish my pieces with several layers of clear lacquer until I accomplish a glossy bright coat.
