Whimsical Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland--this original handmade figure is sculpted in paperclay on a wire armature. He can be removed from his frame and is articulated with arms and legs that can be posed. He is painted and elegantly dressed and holds a tiny teacup. He comes in a shadowbox frame (frame may vary from picture) designed to hang on the wall. Frame measures 8" X 6". On wall the work measures 10" x 6" x 3.5". Frame may vary.

Friedericy Dolls & Figurative Art
A childhood love for making dolls and puppets and an educational and professional background in theatre and fashion design all came together thirty years ago when I combined my interests and began a business of "dolls as art". Whimsical figures are sculpted in porcelain and paper clay on a wire armatured body. The costumes are made from vintage textiles, lace, and silks.
Each work is completely hand made with my primary inspiration coming from literature and fantasy. The notion of art dolls and figures as decorative objects lead to creating character shadowboxes and masked tiles as wall art.
