I painted this piece from life in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Fayetteville home to many members of the back-to-the-land movement who sought a place to grow their own food and live off the grid. It is also home to Walmart and Tyson’s corporate headquarters, making for an interesting mix of hippies and corporate heads..
The two construction workers in this painting were working on the house to the left, getting ready to take their lunch break. As I was painting, a man from the neighborhood came up to me. He told me this was the childhood home of J. William Fulbright, a former senator for whom the famous Fulbright scholarship is named. What complex parallel worlds we all occupy, right next to one another.
This print measures 8x10 inches, and comes with a protective sleeve and cardboard backing. Standard size, easily framed. Come to my office hours if you have any questions!
