Each piece is unique, and we select slabs for the best color and grain figuring, and/or other interesting properties. We then use these slabs to make all of our hall tables, desks, sofa tables, benches, and coffee tables. WHAT TO EXPECT: All tables and benches are shipped with the legs removed. The legs are easily reattached using the included machine screws and allen wrench. All tables and benches are finished with multiple coats of Odie’s Oil products for a durable yet natural finish, and metal legs for a modern industrial look. Our goal is to select legs that enhance the natural beauty of the wood, without overshadowing it. The slab is the focal point of the piece! OUR PROCESS: Due to the nature of live edge slabs, each piece is unique! You can rest assured that this functional woodwork is completely one-of-a-kind. Most slabs include splits caused by the drying process, inclusions, voids, and/or knot holes–and each one of these presents a wonderful design opportunity! Splits may be enhanced by installing “bowties” of the same or different species of wood, adding stability and a unique design. Voids, knots and inclusions may be inlaid with stone and/or colored epoxy to give the wood more character. We only use natural materials for our stone inlays, such as Turquoise, Chrysocolla, Lapis Lazuli, Abalone, Alacran, Sodalite, and river stones. All live edges are cleaned up and have the bark removed. Legs are attached using nut inserts and screws. This facilitates the legs being removed for shipping and ensures a solid reconnection at final assembly. SHIPPING: Shipping is free within the 48 Contiguous United States.
