Description
The coffee table top is made out of wood and resin mixed with iridescent blue pigment powder. The resin "river" contained several quartz crystals and crushed glass which can be seen through the translucent blue resin. A layer of clears resin mixed with a dash of iridescent blue pigment powder covers the entire top surface providing bits of shiny blue reflection at different light source angles. There's a strip of LEDs underneath the table top which can be adjusted with the included remote control, both of which are battery operated. The battery pack powering the LEDs is velcro-ed to the underside of the table top for easy removal and replacement of 4 AA batteries. The LEDs connect to the battery pack via USB cable, which can be plugged into a USB port for an alternative source to power the LEDs. The base of table is made from steel that I welded and attached to the wood of the table with screws. The bottom of each leg of the table has a plastic plug inserted into the steel tube to eliminate scuff marks on the floor when moved.
The LEDs come with a remote control that can adjust the color, brightness, flashing speed, and scene mode.

Creating and exploring art has greatly influenced my life and has evolved into a form of daily meditation. Although I have a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and am a licensed patent attorney by day, I consider myself an artist/designer/explorer by night. I have been studying the unique properties of epoxy resin for the past few years which has resulted in a discovery of a great medium for artistic expression. I love the creative process and enjoy learning new techniques, working with new materials, and combining different art genres in my work.
I use resin combined with various pigments such as acrylic paint, oils, pigment powder, and inks to create unique 2D and 3D works of art including paintings, sculptures, jewelry, furniture and home goods. Some of my pieces incorporate other materials such as wood, metal, plastic, fiberglass, glass, fabrics, etc. I also make custom pieces that can be personalized. Furthermore, I do commissioned work such as epoxy resin kitchen counter tops and indoor/outdoor furniture.
