n<p class="p1">The "J" shape was the traditional shape for the Lacrosse Stick and they were made from a solid piece of hickory.</p>
n<p class="p1">When manufacturers switched to making the sticks from man-made material the sticks broke at the base of the "J" shape. STX came up with the idea of closing the loop - which is what this patent is for - which gave it strength.</p>
n<p class="p1">This is the basic shape of the Lacrosse Sticks used today.</p>
