This shallow bowl if food-safe. This type of bowl is called a lace bowl—note the holes. It’s made by cutting strips placing them in a circle then fused together thus, creating holes. The colors used are vanilla and white. These two colors create reaction. See the picture of the back of the bowl. This bowl can be used to serve fruit, for candles, or just displayed. It has been handmade by me. The piece is fired in my kiln to a smooth finish. To finish the process in the kiln, the glass is cooled very slowly—annealing phase. This process makes the glass stronger. The next process is to slump the disc into a mold. This bowl is 6mm thick. This bowl comes with a metal stand for displaying. NOTE: We do not recommend washing this piece in the dishwasher—due to cold/heat variations of the dishwasher. Please hand wash.

My sister, Sue Froebel, and I have been fusing for about 10 years. However, we don't fuse full time. We usually do about 4 Art Shows a year. We are learning new fusing techniques all of the time. We are both a BOI's--born on the island-Galveston.
