L878 long narrow lidded box

This is one of my 'short/wide fitted lid' style boxes. It is sized for smaller items. The carcass of the box is made from American black cherry with a marquetry top of quilted maple, bubinga and redwood lace burl. The lid is positioned and retained by a lip of thin maple stock. The floor of the box is lined with light tan ultra-suede, to protect whatever you choose to keep inside. The bottom of the box has four soft feet to protect your table top from marring. The box is finished with several hand-rubbed coats of clear lacquer and then waxed to bring out the natural color and figure of the woods.
