This painting consists of multiple layers. I freehanded this painting without a sketch or photo reference. After gesso, I laid down the background layer and then added the subject matter. I then framed the painting with copper metal leafing.

Hey there! I have a BFA from Kendall Col. of Art and Design, an MA from Eastern Mi. University and I'm a US. Army veteran after having served 6 years both stateside and overseas. Prior to enlisting, I participated in grassroots gallery shows, art battles and other events in Detroit. My current goal is to become a traveling art fair artist.
My work is mystical and raw. I'm a steampunk loving nerdy fan of pirates, the giant kraken and mermaids. And prior to living in Florida, my husband and I lived in Maryland, another seaside state. It was there that inspired me to pick up a nautical theme in my work.
