Some of my favourite videos are those of colourblind people putting on glasses that allow them to see colour for the first time. They don't intellectualize the nuances and saturations of colour they now see, they weep. With joy! Colour can do that to us. We respond to it and that is what drives my painting. Colour makes me feel a certain way and it influences how I interpret the scenes I paint. The result is abstracted landscapes and form that share my response to what I see in a way words cannot.
