Deana
Pastelist Deana Goldsmith is a self taught artist who grew up in Oklahoma, currently residing in Mississippi. Through her still life drawings, she tries to bring the viewer into a vintage world where nature comes to play. Each composition begins with an idea, old object, flora or fauna. Shadows and reflections are an important part of each piece. Her pastel drawings are created on sanded pastel paper using pastel pencils and soft pastel sticks. As a full time artist, she travels the US participating in juried fine art shows. Deana is a member of the Degas Pastel Society in New Orleans and a signature member of The Pastel Society of America.

Through my still life drawings, I try to bring the viewer into a vintage world where nature comes to play. Drawings are created using soft pastel pencils and sticks on sanded pastel mat paper. Framed in natural colored gallery style frames with off-white cotton rag matting and anti-glare UV glass.
