Slabs are rolled from white stoneware and textured with a rubber mat that I designed myself. The clay is cut to my template and joined at the seam, a disk added for the foot and a handle pulled and joined over the seam. The leaves and berries are individually colored with underglaze. After thouroughly drying they are put in a first firing to drive out impurities, then glazed and fired to 2185 degrees in my electric kiln, steps outside of my San Diego home studio.
