The construction actually involves the deconstruction of all or part of the pallet followed by reconstruction to assemble the piece. The wood is sanded with a rough sandpaper and left unfinished or finished with a natural walnut stain.
Briefly describe what makes your work unique:
The pieces of furniture or artwork created are essentially limited to the sizes and types of wood found in the pallets. Although many pallets are reused as pallets, a lot get sent to the dump where they are left to decay. By recovering the pallets before they are discarded, we can recycle the wood into useful and desirable products. This rebuilding endeavor appeals to us as it reflects what we realize are limited resources on our planet earth.
