Description
Handwoven rug #B327 dimensions are 23"x19".
This rug is handwoven on my Grandmothers original 2 Harness floor loom, out of heavy duty cotton/polyester materials.
I've used all white colors to weave the main body of this rug, and I used a Khaki type of material showing a blend of different colors in a striped effect on each end of the rug.
In weaving this rug, I've used a blend of blue, gold, brown and ivory color warp, finishing the rug in a traditional tied edging.
I learned how to weave these old fashioned rugs from my Grandma - who wove many, many rugs years ago. I now have her original floor loom - that I still use when I hand weave these type of rugs.
These rugs are a form of "Rag Rug" that was used very often years ago, especially in the farm house for use in the entry ways and mud rooms - because they are so very heavy duty. When they get dirty, just give them a shake and throw in the machine to wash and dryer - or hang dry.
I've made a slight variation to this type of rug - as instead of strips of old cloths - I am using what is called "Selvedge Materials". This is selvedges (excess materials ) from the upholstery mills. Once I get these materials from the mills, I separate the colors and weave these as tightly as possible - so the end result makes very colorful, durable rugs.
Washing Instructions: Wash machine, gentle cycle - any temperature.
Drying Instructions: Hang dry - or machine dry
